PR & A Loss!

April 2, 2011

Yesterday was a damn good day. To start the day off right, it was my weigh-in day. I am down to 154.3, which is 2.1lbs dow for the week and a total weight loss of 9.7 lbs. Only .3lbs away from a 10 lbs loss, and taking new progress photos! Yay! I want to see if I can lose 4.3 more lbs before I leaving for Vegas on the 14th. If I am diligent, I think I can do it.

My 5k is tomorrow and I went for a quick 1 mile run after work yesterday just to keep my body in "running mode." My time was 8:57 which is a personal record! And shockingly enough, I wasn't pushing myself that hard. Looks like all this training is actually producing some results. I am still pretty nervous for my 5k tomorrow. I know I'll be able to complete it without stopping, but I would really like a time under 35 minutes, but history has shown that when I do a longer distance, I start to slow down a lot. I guess all I can do is my best.

And last but not least, the dresses that I ordered and that were "delivered" (in other words - not delivered) to my house last week, will REALLY be arriving on Monday. Probably going to call UPS in a few here and see if I can just pick them up at the UPS location they are currently at. I am sick of waiting.

I am sure I'll be posting after my 5k tomorrow. Hope everyone has a fun weekend planned!

Prepping for Sunday's 5k

March 30, 2011

We are only 4 days away from my 5k and I am starting to get pretty nervous. Tonight I ran 3.22 miles and again was able to complete it without stopping. Rather than running on the treadmill, I ran outside because I find the treadmill easier to run on for a few reasons: it kinda sets a pace for you and I find myself "spacing out" on the treadmill and suddenly a couple miles has already gone past. I wanted to prove to myself that I could run a 5k without those treadmill "aids" and I was very glad to see I could do it. I tried to go a bit slower tonight and so my time wasn't very good (35:22) and actually pace was pretty lousy (11:03min mile) in comparison to what I have done in prior weeks (sub 10min mile). But I think slowing down was necessary to be able to run the entire time.

Between now and Sunday I think I will only do a quick 1 mile run on Friday just to keep my body fit and ready.  I can't wait to cross that finish line. Did I mention there's a beer garden on the beach after the 5k?!? Yeah - best 5k EVER!!! ;)

Bad and the Good

March 26, 2011

Let's get the bad news over with:

  1. The dresses I ordered for Vegas were apparently delivered at 4:00pm on Thursday and left at my front door. Were they at my front door when I got home from work an hour  later? Of course not. Now it's going to take UPS and the place  I ordered them from up to 8 business days to process a "Lost Package Claim." I have no idea if I'll get my money back, or a new product sent to me. Just my luck....
Now for the good news:
  1. I did a 5k at the gym Thursday night. I'd been really sick for the week prior, so I was very impressed at what I was able to do accomplish. I was able to run 2.8 miles of the 5k and only had to walk .3miles of it (in 0.1mile increments). My time was 34:50min, which is not good, but for being sick, not having run in a week and walking a portion of it, I'll take it! ;)
  2. I didn't make my weigh-in this week - my parents are visiting from SF and I had to go in early to work to get off early in order to pick them up from the airport. I did weigh myself at home and I was at 156.2, which is a bit down from my last WW weigh-in, but still not where I wanna be. I've been having a hard time lately being motivated :/
  3. Matt and I just booked our Caribbean cruise for later this year. I am so excited! Neither of us have been on a cruise before so it will be an awesome trip. Also, gives me another date to set some weight goals for. We leave for our cruise on October 30th and I'd like to be at my goal weight of 120 by then. I think it's manageable if I buckle down and get serious about losing this weight!
5k is in 8 days.
Vegas is in 19 days.

At this point, I would like to weigh 150 for Vegas. That's about 6lbs in just under 3 weeks. Can I do it? Probably not, but I am sure gonna try.

I Suck

March 14, 2011

I'm pretty disappointed in myself. At my weigh-in on Friday I was up 0.6 lbs. I wasn't expecting a big loss since I technically lost over 4lbs the week before, but I wasn't hoping for a gain of any sort.

Where I think I went wrong: I'll admit, I was intentionally not eating all my daily points and I know that's something you are not supposed to do. I think my body was in "starvation mode" and clinging to every calorie and gram of fat that I did eat.  This week I am going to focus on drinking lots of water and eating all of my daily points.

However, I am even more disappointed in myself because not only did I not run my 3miles on Friday, I didn't run at all last week since my lame 1 mile run on Monday. I haven't run in a week. L.A.Z.Y.

My 5k is in 20 days and there is no excuse for this.

Today I am going to run 1.5 miles, Wednesday 3 miles and another 1.5miles over the weekend (aiming for Saturday).

I pledge to all of my fellow followers that I will make these distances happen this week.

Hope your week went and is going better than mine.

Nervous

Thursday, March 10, 2011

I weigh-in tomorrow and I am hoping for a loss. After losing over 4lbs last week, I am expecting my body to be a bit resistant this week. I have been on point with counting my points and I want sooooo badly to reach 154. At 154 I will have lost 10lbs and get to take new progress pics. My goal is to reach 154 by March 25 (when I have some visitors coming into town that I will reveal later), and with the rate I am going, I expect that I should not only reach, but pass that goal up with no problem. *knock on wood*

Tonight I am heading to the gym and plan on running 3 miles straight in preparation for my 5k training. As my title suggests, I am pretty nervous because the most I have so far 2.6 miles and I don't want to disappoint myself tonight. My 5k is in 24 days and I am really hoping for a sub 35min time. If I keep my pace up as it has been, I might adjust that to be more like a 32min time. Right now I am pulling off sub 10 and 10:30 miles....just don't know if I can keep that up for 3.2 miles.

Anywho, I will report my weigh-in tomorrow. Best of luck to everyone!

"WINNING!"

March 4, 2011
Today, is a GOOD day my friends.

I didn't make my run on Wednesday night, but ended up going last night so it was OK. My goal was to run 2.5 miles straight. I ended up doing 2.6 (sweet!) and completed it in 25:51.....that's a 9:57 miles folks!!! Best time since I was in HS.

Now, for the very exciting news. If you do recall from my post at the beginning of the week, I had fallen off the horse over the past few weeks. Weighing-in at 160.1 I vowed to get down to my last WW weigh-in weight by my meeting today.

I just got back from my meeting....

I weighed in at 155.8! That means I lost 4.3 lbs THIS WEEK and am down 1.2 lbs since my last weigh-in. To quote Charlie Sheen - "WINNING!"

Did I mention that this week I hit my 5% loss this week?  Yup! :)

I can't believe it. I am so excited (and proud) of myself. I busted my butt with my running goals this week (still have a run to come tomorrow morning) and have counted every last point. AND IT PAID OFF.

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!

Rachelle xx

Good Girl.

1.6 miles done. 10:35 pace. Not too shabby considering it was freezing cold and all I wanted to do was sit on the couch.

Repeat after me: Vegas. Vegas. Vegas. ;)

I Mean Business...

I weighed myself today after weeks of not counting points, weeks of saying "I'll be better next week/tomorrow," weeks of blowing off my WW meetings and weigh-ins for whatever reasons.

After all of that, I weighed myself at home and my scale read 160.1.

UGH. That's 4 lbs up from my last weigh in at WW X-amount of weeks ago. So til I weigh in on Friday morning, I am counting every last point. Running EVERY single day that I have already set in my schedule:

Tonight: Running 1.5 miles
Wednesday: Gym Run: 2.5 miles
Saturday Run: 2 miles

I've got 34 days til my 5k.
And 45 days til Vegas.

I MUST weigh 145 by Vegas.

45 days to get down to 145...

...It's time to get my a$$ in gear.

Don't run after pizza

February 10, 2010

Yesterday morning I was convinced that between my taco Tuesday hangover and just feeling fat and lazy, my ambitious plans to go to the gym that evening were canned.

Well, the hangover was gone by the afternoon, still felt fat and lazy by the evening, but that was really even more reason to get my round butt to the gym. My bff and I were going to go to a yoga class after hitting up the treadmills (in preparation for our 5k in April), but we opted just to run last night.

I wanted to run 2 miles straight, but considering everything aforementioned, I didn't know if 2miles was really going to happen. (Did I mention my boyfriend and I had pizza for dinner right before going to the gym? I know, genius.)

Well I managed to push through the side cramp and the stomach ache (thank you pizza) and run 2 miles (straight!). I was even more impressed with my 21 minute completion time: a 10:30 mile pace. I'm no speedy runner, but I don't think a 10:30 mile is too shabby. I'd like to get it under 10 minutes, but that will come with time.

After writing my bad.Bad.BAD entry, I certainly feel better having stuck to my gym goal for the day and stay on track with my 5k training.

Maybe not such a BAD day after all :)

bad. Bad. BAD.

February 9, 2010

So this week I have been bad. Bad. BAD. Started with the weekend and eating a few naughty things without too much remorse. (bad) Then on Monday I got promoted at work, so my man and I went out for my favorite Sushi dinner. (Bad) Then yesterday was taco Tuesday and well since I had just gotten promoted, it was time to celebrate with my friends with $2.50 margaritas and guacamole. (BAD).

I am terrified to get on the scale, I feel sooooo gross and I know I won't like what it tells me. I know I should not worry about it too much - I have to live life once in awhile and indulge when it's appropriate (like celebrating a promotion), but I hate feeling that the hard work over the past month can so easily be lost. I hate the my body is so stubborn to shed any weight, but so eager to gain it back after a day or two of less than I ideal eating.

Ugh. I am supposed to go to the gym tonight with my boyfriend and bff to train for my 5k followed by a yoga class. Honestly, right now all I want to do is eat some nasty greasy hang-over breakfast.

It's probably a blessing in disguise that the McDonald's drive-thru line was too long this morning for me to be on time for work. I guess my hangover will just have to be satisfied with my 4pt+ oatmeal....

And so it begins!

December 31, 2010
Hello fellow bloggers, dieters and fitness fanatics!

Tomorrow is 1.1.11 and it's time to start working on those resolutions. My weight has been up and down all my life and this year that stops. I joined Weight Watchers again - did it before and lost over 55lbs. I've also set fitness goals for myself; on April 3rd I have registered for my first 5k and tomorrow I begin my training. My goal is to run in a 10k by the end of the year and a Half Marathon sometime next year.

Anyone have any similar resolutions/goals?

Share your blog links, I'd love to hear your stories!
