7lbs. 2 Days.

June 21, 2011
How does a person gain 7lbs in 2 days?!? HOW!?!?

You visit your pushy, controlling, "What? You don't like my cooking??" boyfriend's father for Father's Day weekend. I know what I put in my mouth is ultimately my choice, but this past weekend I was definitely put in positions where I was either without better food choice options or felt like "I had" to eat what was cooked. Not to mention I have been eating super healthy lately, and Matt's parents - well, they don't. Everything is processed food and there is virtually no balance between veggies, carbs and proteins (everything is meat and carbs).

My stomach is in complete knots and has been since Saturday. Saturday night I woke up at 3am in a hot sweat, stomach in serious pain and unable to fall back asleep. Yesterday, I even left work early because I was in so much pain. Today isn't much better.

Next time we go up to visit his family I am bringing my own food. I am so frustrated because not only am I in pain, but I was at a new low in my weight loss and only 1.7lbs away from my Nebraska goal. Now I am WAY UP and going to have to bust ass to get back down to my low and I don't even know if I can meet my Nebraska goal anymore. I am not going to have an official weigh-in  until the morning I leave for Nebraska but I will be sure to update everyone with my progress along the way. I have 11 days to get down into the 140's...

I hope everyone had a better weekend than I did. :/

Weigh In

June 17, 2011

I was so pleased to get on the scale this morning and see 151.7. My weight has been a crazy roller coaster ride lately and I am glad to be at a new low. My trip to Nebraska to meet my man's family is 15 days away and I am DETERMINED to be in the 140's.

On a side note,  2 days ago I received a Facebook group invite for my High School Reunion! WTF...has it REALLY been 10 years! And more importantly, do I REALLY want to see all of those people? Especially with an ass this big???

I think it's  hilarious that our class president wants the reunion to be a rafting trip - clearly she hasn't gained any weight since high school. I, on the other hand, have a HUGE issue with being in a bathing suit in front of all those people

Has anyone gone to their reunion? What about skipped their reunion? Were you happy with whatever decision you made? I don't really know if I want to go. I kinda feel that everyone I wanted to keep in touch with, I have. And everyone else I get "all the dirt" I need from Facebook - HA!

Would love your input! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and is lucky enough to spend it with their Daddies...I won't because my Dad is a $400 plane flight away, but I LOVE HIM ANYWAYS!!! :)

10lbs and NEW Progress Pics

April 10, 2011

I'm a few days behind in posting this, but as of Friday (my weigh-in day) I have officially lost 11.1lbs. And that means it's time for NEW PROGRESS PICS! I feel that I've lost most of the weight in  my waist line. Can't wait til I've lost another 10lbs so I can do a side-by-side comparison of a 20lbs!

So on Friday I weighed in at 152.9lbs and I leave for Vegas on Thursday. My goal was to weigh 150 by Vegas, but if I weight 150-point-anything I will count that as a win. :) 2 lbs.... time to get to it!

PR & A Loss!

April 2, 2011

Yesterday was a damn good day. To start the day off right, it was my weigh-in day. I am down to 154.3, which is 2.1lbs dow for the week and a total weight loss of 9.7 lbs. Only .3lbs away from a 10 lbs loss, and taking new progress photos! Yay! I want to see if I can lose 4.3 more lbs before I leaving for Vegas on the 14th. If I am diligent, I think I can do it.

My 5k is tomorrow and I went for a quick 1 mile run after work yesterday just to keep my body in "running mode." My time was 8:57 which is a personal record! And shockingly enough, I wasn't pushing myself that hard. Looks like all this training is actually producing some results. I am still pretty nervous for my 5k tomorrow. I know I'll be able to complete it without stopping, but I would really like a time under 35 minutes, but history has shown that when I do a longer distance, I start to slow down a lot. I guess all I can do is my best.

And last but not least, the dresses that I ordered and that were "delivered" (in other words - not delivered) to my house last week, will REALLY be arriving on Monday. Probably going to call UPS in a few here and see if I can just pick them up at the UPS location they are currently at. I am sick of waiting.

I am sure I'll be posting after my 5k tomorrow. Hope everyone has a fun weekend planned!

I Suck

March 14, 2011

I'm pretty disappointed in myself. At my weigh-in on Friday I was up 0.6 lbs. I wasn't expecting a big loss since I technically lost over 4lbs the week before, but I wasn't hoping for a gain of any sort.

Where I think I went wrong: I'll admit, I was intentionally not eating all my daily points and I know that's something you are not supposed to do. I think my body was in "starvation mode" and clinging to every calorie and gram of fat that I did eat.  This week I am going to focus on drinking lots of water and eating all of my daily points.

However, I am even more disappointed in myself because not only did I not run my 3miles on Friday, I didn't run at all last week since my lame 1 mile run on Monday. I haven't run in a week. L.A.Z.Y.

My 5k is in 20 days and there is no excuse for this.

Today I am going to run 1.5 miles, Wednesday 3 miles and another 1.5miles over the weekend (aiming for Saturday).

I pledge to all of my fellow followers that I will make these distances happen this week.

Hope your week went and is going better than mine.

"WINNING!"

March 4, 2011
Today, is a GOOD day my friends.

I didn't make my run on Wednesday night, but ended up going last night so it was OK. My goal was to run 2.5 miles straight. I ended up doing 2.6 (sweet!) and completed it in 25:51.....that's a 9:57 miles folks!!! Best time since I was in HS.

Now, for the very exciting news. If you do recall from my post at the beginning of the week, I had fallen off the horse over the past few weeks. Weighing-in at 160.1 I vowed to get down to my last WW weigh-in weight by my meeting today.

I just got back from my meeting....

I weighed in at 155.8! That means I lost 4.3 lbs THIS WEEK and am down 1.2 lbs since my last weigh-in. To quote Charlie Sheen - "WINNING!"

Did I mention that this week I hit my 5% loss this week?  Yup! :)

I can't believe it. I am so excited (and proud) of myself. I busted my butt with my running goals this week (still have a run to come tomorrow morning) and have counted every last point. AND IT PAID OFF.

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!

I Mean Business...

I weighed myself today after weeks of not counting points, weeks of saying "I'll be better next week/tomorrow," weeks of blowing off my WW meetings and weigh-ins for whatever reasons.

After all of that, I weighed myself at home and my scale read 160.1.

UGH. That's 4 lbs up from my last weigh in at WW X-amount of weeks ago. So til I weigh in on Friday morning, I am counting every last point. Running EVERY single day that I have already set in my schedule:

Tonight: Running 1.5 miles
Wednesday: Gym Run: 2.5 miles
Saturday Run: 2 miles

I've got 34 days til my 5k.
And 45 days til Vegas.

I MUST weigh 145 by Vegas.

45 days to get down to 145...

...It's time to get my a$$ in gear.

Feeling GREAT

February 5, 2010

When I weighed in on Friday, I was oh so pleasantly surprised to learn I had lost another 1.8lbs. I was not expecting such a good number and to be honest, had almost written off last week as a "bad week." I've now lost 7lbs and already I feel so much better. I am a small person, only 5 feet tall, and any extra weight on my body is easily noticeable and FEELS like alot. I find that I have so much more energy these days.

After two years of being a vegetarian I recently decided to start eating meat again, and surprisingly enough (and probably contrary to popular opinions) I feel so much better. As a vegetarian, I was never good about incorporating protein substitutes into my diet. I love tofu, but can't cook it to save my life. I hate most beans, and while I liked the taste of most "faux-meat" products (Bocca burgers, etc) I found they never sat too well with my tummy. In the long run, I found myself eating alot of pasta type dishes and I think this contributed to my weight gain over the past year.

Since re-joining the meat-eating population, I am finding myself being more creative with my cooking and eating much, much healthier and it feels great.

I am going home to see my family and friends on the 18th for the long weekend, and my goal is to be at 155 by then. I plan on taking round of progress photos when I have lost 10lbs...and I am actually excited to see if a difference is easily noticeable.

Missed the Weigh-In

January 24, 2011

So I missed my weigh-in this past week. Partly because I had a lot going on and partly because I had a feeling I would see a minor gain and that would be detrimental to morale. So I guess we'll just have to wait til this Friday to see how things are paying off. It's been pretty hard getting my training in for my 5k, but I think Matt and I have come up with a gym/exercise schedule that works well with our busy lives. My last run had me doing 1.25miles without stopping and I am feeling pretty good with my progress. I don't see any problem being able to complete my 5k on April 3rd (and then head to VEGAS a week later!!!) My BFF is supposed to be signing up for the 5k with me and that would be an awesome motivator - having someone do it with me.

Week 2 Weigh In

January 14, 2011
I weighed in today and while WW says I gained 0.2lbs, let it be known that when I weighed myself at home stark naked, I was 159.7. So I am going to keep telling myself I have officially broken 160. Either way, I am just grateful that my weight wasn't a worse number this week. After spending nearly a week and a half with Matt's (mid western) parents, it was VERY difficult to eat the way I wanted to. I am proud of myself to pretty much have maintained and not gained during that time.

This week I am going to focus on eating more chicken and drinking more water. I've been bad about training for my 5k the past week, but I'll be up first thing in the morning to go for a run.

First Week: A Loss!

January 6, 2011
So I had my first weigh in after being on WW for a week and I lost 3.6 lbs. Pretty exciting considering I have been on a pseudo vaca with my boyfriend's parents all week and they are from the Midwest and don't eat anything like me (or how I should be eating). But I tried really hard to eat lots of fruits and veggies and very small portions of the "bad stuff." Seems like it worked. My mini goal for myself was to be in the 150's by today's weigh-in and I was only .5lbs away...not too bad. Should definitely make it by next week's weigh-in. Already I can feel a difference. I am only 5 feet tall so even a few extra pounds feels like a lot on my little frame.

I started to training for my 5k and am doing ok so far for being so out of shape. I was about to run .8 miles the other night without stopping and tonight (or tomorrow morning) I am shooting for a full mile. Remember...baby steps :P

I found the most amazing way to start my day and I will tell you all about it, as soon as I can get some photos together for you. It makes me feel AMAZING.

You're dying to know now aren't you? :P
